Meet Sam Woodthrush
Sam Woodthrush grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he loved playing sports. Being of absolute average physical disposition, he surprisingly starred on his high school baseball team, eventually getting recruited to play ball at Harvard University. After sitting on the bench and writing an unpublished book, Woodthrush reluctantly gave up those hobbies, graduated with a degree in government, and moved to Washington, D.C., to get a “real job.” He interned on Capitol Hill for four months and then gave up the idea of working in government, if not in government itself.
Upon reaching the nadir of his self-confidence, he overcame the existential crisis of his own making and interviewed for a job in commercial real estate, where he has been gainfully employed for the past twenty years. He expects to work for another thirty to save enough for his kids’ education.
Woodthrush lives in Virginia with his lovely wife, two daughters, and a third child, a boy, on the way.
Back to the Distant Mirror is his debut novel.
